Sherryl Smith is an active volunteer in Pakenham On. since moving from Ottawa in 1995. After a 35 year career as a Community Developer/ Health Promoter, she has maintained a focus of interest in the health sector. In 2016, she was invited to be part of a local community development effort to identify issues important for seniors living in Pakenham. This community assessment process has lead to the creation of “Bridging Generations”, utilizing the WHO Age-Friendly framework. Our small working group has tackled many issues ranging from water quality to walking paths and continues to facilitate healthful and helpful discussions in the community. Sherryl is happy to share her experiences and the benefits of living in a small rural hamlet.
